Lifetime Value

The primary responsibility of the Mobile App Marketing/User Acquisition effort is to identify and procure the most valuable players at the lowest possible spend, and then grow that user base accordingly.

That is, finding players that will provide the greatest Lifetime Value (LTV) acquired at the lowest possible Cost Per Install (CPI), via a variety of app discovery channels.

Mobile ad networks are integral to acquisition efforts as they can reach a significant volume of users while those users are on their mobile device, so there is little friction between a potential player seeing an ad and downloading MLB Victis from the App Store. 

However, the mobile ad network industry is a vastly crowded space with well over 100 players varying greatly in effectiveness in sourcing valuable players.

When considering the nature of mobile gaming apps, special attention must be paid to the quality of the publisher network (on what mobile properties ads are served), and how precise the device, demographic and geographic targeting is.

 

Monetization

The amount of money a user spends in-app during their lifetime of playing the game.

Engagement

How frequently a user plays the game (daily, weekly, monthly), and the length of each gaming session (minutes, hours).

Retention

Closely related to engagement, this is the length of time a user remains an active player before abandoning the game completely.

Virality

The number of new players a current player recruits for free — also know as K-factor.

HLS was followed by MLB Victis an officially licensed product of MLB and then Hyve, a proprietary fusion of trivia and social network management.
